Show Gardens strike Gold! Show Garden design teams are celebrating success at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show after winning awards ranging from Premier Gold to Silver.
Top honours went to North Yorkshire-based
New Leaf Landscapes with Keith Ledger, for their Premier Gold winning Practical Tranquillity.
Gold Awards went to The Writer's Pad by Inspired Garden Design, Shhh... by Askham Bryan College, Contemporary Heart by PWP Landscape, and Glass & Grass by
Yorkshire Garden Designer. Shhh... also won the People's Choice Award, after receiving the most votes from visitors to the show.
a la vollete by Wood Landscapes was awarded Silver Gilt and Sticky back plastic and stamps, by Horticap, won a Silver Award.

The Harrogate Flower Shows are widely regarded as the UK's biggest and most prestigious independent gardening events.
Our 2012 spring show (open 9.30am - 5.30pm, 26 - 29 April) promises the perfect opportunity to find inspiration for your garden, as well as everything you need to make your dream a reality.
Over 100 leading nurseries are exhibiting at the show with a breathtaking array of top quality plants. Best in Show went to Edrom Nursery, from Berwickshire, for their fabulous display of unusual woodland and alpine plants.
The judges handed out a record 22 Premier Gold Awards, 30 Gold, 28 Silver Gilt, 12 Silver and 4 Bronze - click here for more details. Many nurseries also took part in the competition to find the most innovative display, this year won by Joe Maiden, from Grow with Joe, for his tribute to organic gardening at the royal residence of Highgrove - click here for full results.
Have a Go!New for 2012 is a series of hands on demonstrations to encourage show visitors to ‘Have a Go’ at a range of gardening skills. Students from the Askham Bryan College Harrogate Centre are inviting visitors to roll up their sleeves and have a go at laying turf, planting a garden border, building an area of block paving or learning how to create a traditional Yorkshire dry stone wall.
Expert advice The popular Kitchen Garden Live team take centre stage again this spring to provide advice on growing fruit and veg at home, and expert chefs in the Cookery Theatre have lots ideas for turning fresh local produce into delicious dishes. There is a daily omelette challenge, launched on Thursday by celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager and our very own Show Director Martin Fish. There is plenty of guidance and help with pressing gardening problems from the Garden Roadshow and the
Garden Advice Bureau.
Spectacular displays have greeted visitors to the Spring Show, with more than 260 painstakingly-prepared, individual works of art staged in what is Britain's biggest floral art marquee. Large scale exhibits from flower clubs and floristry colleges across the country have also wowed visitors with wonderfully creative interpretations of a wide range of themes, from the Diamond Jubilee to the Black Death.
