Flower Arrangement Classes

A1 ‘The light show’: an abstract exhibit staged on open staging covered with black drape, to be viewed all round but judged from the front. Space alloed, 76cm wide x 76cm deep, height unlimited, on staging raised 75cm from the ground. 1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15; 4th £10. No entry fee.

A2 ‘Country dance’:  an exhibit staged on open staging covered with black drape, to be viewed all round but judged from the front. Space allowed 76cm wide x 76cm deep height unlimited, on stagin raised 75cm from the ground.  1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15; 4th £10. No entry fee.

A3 ‘Seasonal splendour': an exhibit to inlcude roses staged on show staging covered with black drape, background off white ruched fabric. Space allowed 76cm wide x 76cm deep x 99cm high, on staging raised 75cm from the ground.  1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15; 4th £10. No entry fee. The Royal National Rose Society engraved crystal goblet will be awarded to the winner of this class.

A4 ‘Still life': An exhibit staged on show staging covered with black drape, background off-white ruched fabric, Space allowed 76cm wide x 76cm deep x 99cm high, on staging raised 75cm from the ground.  1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15; 4th £10. No entry fee.

A5 ‘Comedy classic': an exhibit staged on show staging covered with black drape, background off-white ruched fabric. Space allowed 76cm wide x 76cm deep x 99cm high, on staging raised 75cm from the ground. 1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15; 4th £10. No entry fee.

A6 ‘Flowers to impress’: an exhibit staged on a board 1m square at ground level and painted Crown Mimosa emulsion, with a background of off-white ruched fabric. Space allowed 100cm wide x 100cm deep, maximum height 210cm. To be viewed and judged from the front.  1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15; 4th £10. No entry fee.

A7 ‘Tea at Betty's ’: an exhibit staged on a stand 61cm in diameter x 75cm high. Height not to exceed 61cm. Staging painted Crown Mimosa emulsion. To be viewed and judged all round.  1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15; 4th £10. No entry fee.

 
It is strongly recommended that all exhibitors refer to the New NAFAS Competitions Manual (Yellow Book). The Harrogate & District Horticultural Association Ladies Challenge Trophy plus an award of £50 will be given to the exhibit judged Best in Show.

Floristry Classes

B1 ‘Food, glorious food': Design a bouquet for a bride and groom who are both chefs. The bouquet to include two items which they may use in their profession. The bouquet can be constructed any way you choose. Accessories may be included. Space allowed 60cm wide x 76cm deep but exhibit may trail over the front of the staging. 
1st prize £50; 2nd £25; 3rd £15. No entry fee
The Kathleen Bretherick Trophy will be awared to the winner in this class.

B2 ‘Looking for a challenge?’: A display to promote and encourage volunteers for an overseas charity. Name the charity. Fresh flowers and foliage to predominate. Accessories may be included. Space allowed 76cm wide x 76cm deep. Maximum height 150cm. 
1st prize £25; 2nd £20; 3rd £15. No entry fee
