Visitors were simply amazed by the visual feast of brightly coloured blooms, all perfectly presented by specialist gardening groups across the country. Fuchsias, dahlias, gladioli, chrysanthemums, carnations, and delphiniums were among the host of flowers on display, as well as intricately and expertly produced bonsai, plus lovingly nurtured exotic orchids.
For the first time this autumn there was a series of floral art and rose society demonstrations in the Specialist Societies marquee, providing top tips and inspiration for keen flower arrangers and rose growers. Talks by the Royal National Rose Society and the Amateur Rose Breeders Association featured advice on taking cuttings and creating new roses.
To celebrate the centenary of the North of England Horticultural Society and the 90th anniversary of the Harrogate and Ripon Beekeepers Association, the association staged a special class as part of their annual Honey Show.
