Growing and nurturing an interest in plants, their history and uses to a future generation.
A new award, aimed at encouraging schools and colleges in becoming involved with horticulture through hands-on activity and based upon horticultural projects as part of the national curriculum.
Successful applicants will receive a vertical cold frame, supplied and delivered courtesy of our grant scheme partners Woodpecker Joinery, together with a ‘Fresh Start’ package containing seeds, growing equipment and simple instructions on how best to engage in a range of gardening activities and projects relating to curriculum outcomes.
Who can apply?
The award is based upon evidence of need, and is open to primary and secondary schools, after-school groups, parent groups, colleges and institutions of further education who can show a demonstrable requirement for grant funding and are based in any of the following areas: Yorkshire, Lancashire, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, Cumbria, Northumberland, Greater Manchester and the North Midlands (north Nottinghamshire, north Derbyshire and north Lincolnshire).
The deadline for applications is 5pm Thursday 12 July 2018.
