A Greener Future:The Dr Bruce Rigby Programme

A programme supporting and inspiring education in horticulture in memory of former NEHS Council Member and horticultural educationalist, Dr Bruce Rigby.

This category is open to individuals of all ages, keen to develop a career in horticulture. In his lifetime, Bruce supported a wide range of educational and learning opportunities for students of all ages within the horticultural sector, and his work continues through this annual programme. Grants from £500 are available, and can be used in the part payment of horticultural course fees or training, course related books and equipment or research trips.

Who can apply?

Individuals who can demonstrate evidence of their passion for horticulture, alongside a reasoning of need for funding and evidence of course/programme acceptance.  Applicants must be based within one of the following areas: Yorkshire, Lancashire, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, Cumbria, Northumberland, Greater Manchester and the North Midlands (north Nottinghamshire, north Derbyshire and north Lincolnshire).

What can the money be spent on?

Funding can be used in the part payment of horticultural course fees or training, course related books and equipment or research trips.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 12 July 2018.
